In depth

Verdict

ART FUND can record back to back successes and can confirm that form with Jonnie Skull and may have more to fear from Deckchair and Imperial Skylight. Gary Moore's runner was making the frame for the first time when running out an impressive victor of a Lingfield seller and won't find this handicap much more taxing. It will be more demanding to confirm the form with Jonnie Skull as he is 5lbs worse off with the Elsworth runner even before claims are taken into account but Art Fund can progress now that he's discovered how to win. Imperial Skylight has gradually discovered his form and has been running to a relatively consistent level this winter; he's yet to get his head in front and is certainly vulnerable but may win a similar contest if he keeps plugging away. Of more appeal is Deckchair as recent evidence suggests that she now sees out this trip better than she did earlier in her career. She has run well the last twice in fairly competitive nurseries and may well benefit from having Liam Jones back in the plate; preference, though, is for Art Fund.
