In depth
Verdict
A poor seller here with many out of form rivals in opposition but something has to win and the principals look to be First Maite, Yorker and Broughton Buzzer and the tentative vote is given to the last named. The selection was slightly disappointing last time out when well behind Scottish River but that was in a much better race and with the drop in grade and trip sure to be in his favour he looks the one to beat.First Maite rates the main danger on his latest third behind Locombe Hill but all his best form is over a shorter trip and for that reason he is opposed. Yorker has the ability to go close and ran as if about to hit form last time out so he should be noted in the market. Loaded Gun is another worthy of respect now he returns to this grade having been well beaten in stronger company but his stable have been quiet of late. Of the remainder Get To The Point is another dropping in grade and hails from a shrewd yard and could run well at a price but in a race where stakes should be kept to a minimum for the winner we return to Broughton Buzzer.
