In depth

Verdict

Only six go to post but this is an interesting heat with two in-form runners commanding attention but with the other four dangerous to dismiss. Climate could prove too hot to handle. Cape Velvet has only gone up by 3lbs for her course and distance win and further success looks likely now that connections have found the key to this lightly raced filly. However, we're going to side with the more experienced Climate on this occasion. He also scored over course and distance last time, winning with something to spare and he remains very well handicapped on his old form. Recent evidence would indicate that he's still capable of running to those sort of marks and he can complete his hat-trick. Breaker Morant didn't appear to be willing to go past last time so we can strike him off the list but we're not so keen to put a line through the remainder. That said, two runners come here in red-hot form and Climate can soak up the plaudits.
