Verdict
Small Stakes can get the better of Mujeak, with Ceredig, Guadaloup and Miss Double Daisy others worth a mention. Small Stakes has been placed on five of his nine starts to date, and as his dam won the Flying Childers, it is not hard to see why Peter Makin continues to run him over sprint trips. He handles a Polytrack surface and just needs a change of luck to open his account, so we will side with him to come good here. Mujeak was unlucky at Newcastle in August but has been out of form since so cannot be backed with confidence, although his stablemate Crow Wood scored over hurdles at the weekend. Ceredig has finished close up on each of his last two starts here so should have place claims, while Guadaloup is out to get the losses back after being sent off favourite at Newcastle. This return to the all-weather may suit, and he is worth noting if the market speaks kindly. Miss Double Daisy is not highly tried on her debut and should progress over the winter, but for the winner we return to Small Stakes.
