    Verdict

Basalt bolted up at Southwell on Monday and he can win again over The King And I and Pret A Porter. Tim Pitt's runner could not have been any more impressive when beating My Friend Fritz on his all-weather debut and a 6lbs penalty is not likely to be enough to anchor him tonight. The King And I has plenty of ability but he is not straightforward and he hung under pressure when chasing home Birkside here last time. If he puts it all together he can go close, but the percentage call would be to swerve him. Pret A Porter has been running well of late and this drop in trip should suit, so she is certainly in with a shout with her yard amongst the winners. Nil Bleu has got some fair flat form in France and he is worth a look in the market, but we prefer the claims of Basalt who can land the nightcap and make it back-to-back wins.
