In depth

Verdict

Both recent winners were tasting success for the first time. HERON finally opened his account with a win over today’s trip at Chelmsford and that looks slightly stronger form than Oborne Lady’s victory at Salisbury last week for which she carries 5lb extra. Hussar Ballad went close over track and trip in March but has struggled subsequently while Shovel It On had been threatening over shorter trips on Polytrack before a poor effort at Leicester. Champs Inblue ended last year with a second at Kempton though finished a long way behind the winner while Incredible Dream ran below par on the Fibresand at Southwell and has switched yards since.
