The shortlist here contains King Flyer, Jadeeron, Sungio, Freddie Freccles and Turtle Patriarch, with the vote going to the last-named. Turtle Patriarch improved to win a maiden here over 12 furlongs last time and, off just a three-pound higher mark, looks set to go well again, with improvement assured. King Flyer didn't get the best of runs last time but it was still a fair effort for his first run on the surface and he has to be considered. Jadeeron has place claims form his current mark, but he has yet to score on artificial surfaces, and Sungio, who won from a mark of 52 here in November, has proven himself effective at this trip also and, from a three-pound higher mark than for that November success, can also go well. Freddie Freccles was just ahead of Blue Hills when the pair were third and fourth here over 12 furlongs last time, with both of them staying on. The first-named of the pair clearly improved for the step up in trip that day and, lightly raced, can improve again and run well here. Explosive Fox has chances based on his Irish Turf form, but much as Spectested hails from a canny yard, he will need to improve to win. In summary, then, once again, the vote goes to Turtle Patriarch.
