In depth
Verdict
Union returned a disappointing favourite at Ripon last time and steps up in trip while Vindicate and Colonize were beaten at Windsor on their respective latest starts. The latter pair are both fitted with headgear today in the hope of improvement but THUMUR (NAP) is less exposed. The latter could only manage fourth over 1m2f in novice company at York last time but was doing his best work at the finish and this extra distance should suit Owen Burrows’ charge now handicapping for the first time. The remainder are harder to fancy though The Pinto Kid is back on a winning mark if rediscovering his best.
