In depth

Verdict

Steig, Grizeback and Niqaab are the three to look at here with Steig set to gain reward for some near misses. Niqaab's third was at a respectful distance last time but probably as good an effort as he has turned in to date. This is a modest affair and it would be no surprise to see him fill a similar place again. Grizebeck has a similar level of form with a third at Southwell his latest Flat effort, though he has run well since to be a good fifth in a maiden hurdle at Catterick. He also ran well at Haydock during the summer and was second here on his second start. He can play a part in the finish. Steig was well backed when fancied to score here a fortnight ago, but had to settle for second beaten a length. He had been off the course for seven months though and can be expected to come on for the run. He has been placed in four of his five Flat starts and has the best form in the race. Steig can take this.
