Verdict
A moderate affair and marginal preference is for Sudra to follow up a recent course and distance success while Hoh's Back, Haunt The Zoo and Illustrious Duke look best of the remainder. The selection was given a positive ride from the front to run out a most convincing two-length winner late last month and still looks well treated on the pick of his old form despite a subsequent 6lb rise so should take plenty of pegging back once again. Hoh's Back appreciated the return to this trip when showing plenty of resolution to land a competitive apprentice riders handicap at Redcar last week. Paul Johnson's gelding escapes a penalty for that success and is equally effective on this surface so has to be feared but Haunt The Zoo looks held by the selection on recent form and may have to settle for minor honours once again. Illustrious Duke comes here in excellent heart but may be anchored by a 6lb rise for winning a weak affair at Southwell last month so the vote goes to Sudra who is expected to make all from a favourable draw.
