Verdict

In a maiden that doesn't look the strongest on paper Mel Brittain's TOBRATA sets the standard and is given our vote at the expense of Barbarian and Quiet Mountain with the newcomers looking no great shakes. In the frame on each of his last three starts the pick represents the only form animal in the contest and almost lands the verdict by default. He shaped well on his last start and has les to beat this time. Barbarian has had plenty of chances and is switch back to the flat after a poor effort over timber. He's gone well here in the past and looks the most likely challenger based on the official ratings. Quiet Mountain is open to more improvement than the two we've just mentioned but will need to after two solid at best starts so far and unless the market speaks highly of the others we will stick to these three with Tobrata standing out of the trio.
