In depth
Verdict
This weak affair will not take much winning, and it is safe to narrow it down to the trio of Red Delirium, Queensberry and Maunby Roller. The latter was given an inspired ride by Dominic Fox in similar company at Southwell last month but has had two different jockeys on board since and is now tried under Robbie Fitzpatrick. It remains to be seen whether that win was just a flash in the pan and in any case he is much worse off at the weights with Red Delirium who was right behind in third at Southwell. Roy Brotherton's charge will be fancied on that form, but has since been beaten twice here, and with that in mind it could pay to side with Queensberry. Representing the in-form team of Nick Littmoden and Ian Mongan, the four-year-old was a very unlucky loser here three weeks ago when second to Firework, encountering all sorts of trouble in running. An earlier effort behind Miss Glory be gives cause foe encouragement as well, and Queensberry is taken to open his account.
