It was soft ground when Conversant won at Doncaster in April and he’s been rested since returning a losing favourite when well beaten at Thirsk. ANONYMOUS JOHN looks a safer bet on his narrow-margin defeat at Newbury last month though the handicapper has done him no favours and raised him 5lb. A Sure Welcome won over 5f here in April but has scored over track and trip before while Bobby Joe Leg won over course and distance when last seen on the all-weather. Katheefa went close at Newcastle last month and has a shout on that form.
