In depth

CONSIDERED OPINION (NAP) makes most appeal in this having scored over track and trip back in May and placed in Class 3 company subsequently. Ralph Beckett’s filly should have the measure of Kalagia, who also drops back down in class having struggled at Goodwood last time. This is a more difficult task for Redcar third Planetaria and Brighton winner Nutini while Point Hope is usually thereabouts without winning and Malaspina has been off the track since February having landed a hat-trick at the end of last year.

Malaspina (ITY) 11-2 (9-12) Led, headed over 1f out, soon weakened, last of 7, 8l behind Humbert (9-11) at Kempton 1m hcp (4) pol in Feb.

Considered Opinion 11-2 (9-8) Led, driven and headed over 1f out, no impression on winner inside final furlong, 2nd of 7, 2l behind Breden (9-11) at Newbury 1m hcp (3) gf in Aug.

Point Hope (IRE) 8-1 (9-7) Held up towards rear, headway over 1f out, not much room inside final furlong, one pace, 4th of 8, 6l behind Good Effort (9-1) at Newbury 7f hcp (4) gf in Aug.

Kalagia (IRE) 6-1 (8-8) Led until over 2f out, rallied over 1f out, faded final furlong, 7th of 15, 6 1/2l behind Move Swiftly (8-12) at Goodwood 1m hcp fll (3) gd in Jul.

Planetaria (IRE) 13-2 (9-5) Chased leaders, ridden to lead inside final furlong, headed towards finish, lost 2nd close home, 3rd of 9, 3/4l behind Cryptonite (8-9) at Redcar 1m hcp (5) gf in Jun.

Nutini (IRE) 16-1 (9-2) Restless in stalls, chased leaders on inside, ridden over 1f out, weakened inside final furlong, last of 6, 9 1/2l behind Parting Clouds (8-13) at Wolverhampton 1m 1f hcp (4) pol in Aug.
