        Verdict

        Extemporise failed to land a gamble last time on this track when third behind On The Trail but could be capable of making amends here at the main expense of Mount Royale and Spy Gun. The selection was outpaced early on last week when heavily backed and was staying on again at the finish, so the step up to 7 furlongs should suit and he is taken to score. Mount Royale was disappointing on this track last time behind Warden Warren and looks opposable here. He has paid the price for a couple of wins and this gelding may now in the grip of the handicapper. Spy Gun has been a big disappointment for his supporters of late but he has plenty of ability and could be capable of a big run if he is in the mood. Of the remainder, Tantric is a course and distance winner who was returning from a break when well beaten here last time, so he may come on for that run, but Extemporise could be the answer to a tricky race and he is given the nomination.
