      Verdict

      GABRIAL THE DUKE (NAP) scored over today's trip at Lingfield when partnered by today's apprentice. Upped only 2lb for that success, he is preferred to Spiritoftomintoul who recently ended a long losing run with a victory over 1m6f here and has been raised 6lb. Communicator hasn't won since 2012 but should appreciate the return to a longer trip while the lightly-raced Stonecutter has scope for improvement attempting 2m for the first time along with Alshan Fajer and Excellent Puck.
