Verdict

Mount Ella is less exposed than most of these and Jamie Osborne's filly has to be respected in a race that should not take a great deal of winning after an encouraging first start in a handicap last month but more solid claims are held by LA GIFTED, who gets the verdict with Hold The Star rated the pick of the remainder. The selection is trained by Mick Channon and has run creditably in his last two starts in handicaps at Warwick over seven furlongs and a mile and a reproduction of the form shown in either of those races may be sufficient to win this. Mark Brisbourne's Join Up has not raced since October but the stable have their runners in fair form at present so he has to be considered, while Crystallize has run better on his last two starts on turf and would have every chance if able to reproduce the form back on the Polytrack. Ed Vaughan's Hold The Star has had the three runs necessary for a handicap mark and may do better now running in this grade but La Gifted has solid claims and is preferred.
