Verdict
In a tricky race to weigh up, we will shortlist Heartcrusher, Rowan Warning and, possibly with a touch of whimsy, Scamperdale, but side with Art Elegant. With three Irish imports in the race, these being Flaming Shot, Dayoff and and Heartcrusher, all making their all-weather debuts, it is hard to form a strong view on this race, and maybe the betting will provide some clues. What we can say is that the best of the form of each of them rates in the 60s, and something of that nature ought to be good enough here. The best of the form achieved on offer from the others probably comes from Art Elegant and Rowan Warning. The former will appreciate the step up in trip from last time from Southwell's six furlongs and has to be respected, while the latter's Turf form rates in the 60s and he gets a shout on that basis on his all-weather debut. Lord Of Dreams holds claims based on his course and distance second to Oh Danny Boy on November 12th, although the form has not exactly worked out yet. Finally, a potential improver is Scamperdale, who made late headway when tried on this surface for the first time last time and, in a modest race, who knows? Overall, though, we will tentatively select the well-drawn Art Elegant.
