If I Were A Boy sets the standard for the girls, but she has a lengthy losing run to her name and still looks vulnerable, and we'll take a chance on newcomer SILKENVEIL. Richard Fahey is double-handed in the contest, and the leading light looks to be the selection, who cost 95,000 pounds as a foal and is a half-sister to a 9f juvenile winner in Italy. She is related to other good stock, should find this trip ideal, and with the yard maintaining decent form we will take the plunge. Stablemate Thistlestar should benefit from this step up in trip and has shown up reasonably well in two starts to date. She may be a better proposition after today, when handicapped. If I Were A Boy has strung together a few consistent efforts over this sort of trip at Lingfield, and has also run well in defeat here a couple of months ago. She will take some beating, but is far from bombproof. Riviera Chic should improve for her debut, as should Al Shababiya, and neither is ruled out, but with a market watch very much advised we'll suggest Silkenveil.
