In depth

Verdict

Bold Phoenix, Wodhill Gold and Yashin are among the more obvious winners and our vote is for Bold Phoenix. Barney Curley's charge was second at Southwell after a couple of months off the track and as ever, Barney Curley's runners at this level have to be treated with utmost respect. Wodhill Gold landed a gamble to take his most recent race at this level. A follow up would not be out of the question. Yashin was well behind Surdoue at Southwell on his most recent start. Dagola has decent form at Lingfield but has never shown too much at Wolverhampton. It Must Be Speech continues in good heart and is watched in the market. Opera Knight is back to the circuit where he was a course-and-distance winner. He has delivered little elsewhere so his backers will be hoping that the sight of Dunstall Park might reawaken his enthusiasm. Bold Phoenix looks difficult to get away from and we shall keep the faith.
