In depth

Verdict

With a 5lb drop in the weights since his last run, CRUSHING is given the tentative vote to get home in front here, while Always De One and Single Lady can get involved. The last-named represents a yard going well and showed some potential over course and distance two starts ago, but she missed the break last time and was never in it. Jamie Spencer takes the mount today and connections will be hoping that he can get her back on the right track. Always De One looks likely to appreciate the drop back to this trip, after not quite getting home when tried over 1m 4f at Kempton. She has gone well here in defeat before and she should be thereabouts. Destiny's Dancer scored here in a 7f handicap last month but failed to follow up from today's mark when stepped up in trip on turf last time. Pedigree suggests that she should stay this far, so we may see better this time. Even so, we will stick with Crushing. Julie Camacho has her string in good form and she ran well enough in a claimer last time when not expected to win. There is sufficient stamina on her dam's side to suggest that this new trip could bring out a better effort than that run, and with that 5lb drop she looks of most interest.
