In depth

Verdict

King Nicholas showed precious little in maiden company but has been handicapped accordingly and looks capable of picking up a race of this nature judged on his handicap debut third behind Adaleel (winner since) at Carlisle earlier in the month. The three-year-old has been dropped a 1lb and should confirm placings with Calgarth who finished down the field although the latter will be sharper for the outing. Tre Colline is another unexposed sort who may be better than his form in maidens would suggest and looks best of the remainder in a moderate affair.
