Most of these have something to prove off their current marks having won earlier in the season. That includes the returning Boost, who landed a course double early this year, while Custard The Dragon scored twice at Southwell back in April. Whirl Me Round went close in last year’s Two-Year-Old Trophy at Redcar and makes a belated seasonal debut while course and distance winner Phalaborwa has struggled subsequently. But EASY TIGER went close at Chelmsford last month off a similar mark to today and Malcolm Saunder’s charge may prove good enough in this with a similar effort.
