        Verdict

        Kallista's Pride, Blue Knight and Wainwright are the three for the shortlist here and preference is for Kallista's Pride. A very cosy winner at Lingfield on Wednesday, Kallista's Pride won five times last year and having slipped down the handicap took full advantage. She carries a six pound penalty, but with trainer John Best landing the first hat trick of his career on Wednesday, the mare can defy that. David Nicholls saddles Blue Knight, who won at Newcastle in September but has not won since. However, there was a lot of encouragement in his latest effort over this course and distance where he was headed close home and he looks sure to go well. Wainwright, a winner at Hamilton and Southwell last year, was right behind Blue Knight in that race and given a better start, he can play a part. For the selection however, we return to Kallista's Pride.
