Flood Defence was beaten less than a length over track and trip on Boxing Day with Carp Kid in close attendance while Champarisi was narrowly beaten at Newcastle last time having scored over track and trip earlier. Third-placed Star Ascending meets ICE CANYON on better terms today but the latter scored by over three lengths over course and distance earlier in the month and is taken to go in again given the measure of his superiority.
