        Verdict

        Ershaad won his maiden at Lingfield back in January and returns to action. Shamlan is also lightly raced but ran a shocker here last time while Black Dave is back on a winning mark and preferred to Thataboy over today's distance with the latter recording all three wins so far over shorter trips. ASSAULT ON ROME is not the most reliable but she remains unexposed on the all-weather and a chance is taken on Mark Johnston's filly dropped in class today and racing off a 7lb lower mark than when scoring at Goodwood in August.
