        Verdict

        ALPHONSE LE GRANDE came up short when only third at Chelmsford last week but this is a weaker contest and an apprentice takes 5lb off his back. Jacks Profit has a shout on an earlier placed effort at Chelmsford but Sun Rising has plenty to prove over this far judged on an earlier attempt. Rockfire may well improve now handicapping with blinkers applied for the first time but needs to do so on the evidence of his moderate form to date.
