In depth

Verdict

Four Tel was well backed to win last time to beat one of today's rivals Fine Ruler and he is our pick with Fine Ruler and Dickie Le Davoir the alternatives. The selection is twice a winner around here and last time, despite being slowly into stride, he got to grips with the leaders but hung in the closing stages. Most of his performances had been on the pace prior to that outing so it was encouraging he landed that despite his poor start which could mean that he has a bit in hand. Fine Ruler was beaten by Four Tel last time but Hadden Frost's 5lb helps negotiate the fact that he is no better off for that beating, having landed a Kempton contest last time. A fast pace seemed to assist his cause last time and he will need luck in running if similar tactics are applied. Dickie Le Davoir landed a claimer last time and has more on his plate here. He does appear handicaped to the hilt and the first two make more appeal. The relatively unexposed Four Tel is our selection to land this handicap.
