        Verdict

        Desperate stuff and from a shortlist that includes Green Pirate, Marmooq and Now You See Me, it is with some reluctance that we select the first named. Green Pirate is very difficult to win with at the best of times but he again failed to trouble the judge on Sunday despite attracting cash in the ring. This is such a moderate event that he makes some appeal despite a perilously poor win record. Marmooq is consistent but ordinary. His better recent runs have obtained when forcing the pace but that isn't saying a lot. Now You See Me was 50/1 in a recent Wolves claimer but wasn't far behind horses rated in the 60's. Benayoun was cheaply despatched from Mark Tompkins yard at the sales and previous connections have had little to worry about since. Kingoftheswingers is engaged to run on Thursday evening while Capital Lass is the best of the rest on recent form. Green Pirate should be capable of pilfering a poor race against bad rivals.
