In depth

Verdict

The participation of Judge 'n Jury may be in some doubt having raced at Lingfield on Saturday and a safer option looks to be Drifting Gold, who gets the vote ahead of Desert Opal. The last mentioned has been running consistently well without winning but has slipped to a fair mark and has to be respected. Monte Major was slightly disappointing at Kempton over six furlongs last time but may appreciate the return to five furlongs on Lingfield's Polytrack, while Almaty Express has paid the penalty at the hands of the handicapper for his recent successes. Jilly Why is hard to recommend on recent evidence and preference is for Drifting Gold, who was good value for his win here last time and is taken to defy the 3lb rise for that success.
