In depth

Verdict

Torina is respected but came up short over course and distance from an 8lb lower mark in March when well supported so she does have a little to prove on her return to Dunstall Park. Brighton winner Al Shababiya shapes as though she's well worth a try at this trip and she'll be a danger to all if lasting home but she's far from guaranteed to do so on paper and preference is for a performer with proven stamina. Tigress Hill and Jewellery should have no problem with the trip but neither looks the quickest and BUTE STREET is taken to confirm recent running with Bright Sparky. Mick Easterby's charge may not be as well suited by this marginally longer trip on the level as Ron Hodges' gelding who scored over course and distance in October. He's on a career high mark as a result of his latest success but has plenty in his favour and, in George Baker, a jockey who rides this track particularly well and can overcome his draw in 13.
