Verdict

Anthill looks the one to be with in this handicap; Toucantini and Sophia Gardens rate as the main dangers. The selection was only narrowly beaten by Baltic Belle last time and Ian Wood's filly gives the impression that she now knows what the game is all about. She is open to further improvement and although she will need some luck from her high draw, she looks the value call. Toucantini is a filly from the Roger Charlton yard and she has the plum draw here. However, she disappointed last time in a race that has not worked out very well and for that reason she looks opposable. Sophia Gardens wasn't beaten far at Kempton last time but she has had plenty of chances now and she is not hard to pass over. Metropolitan Chief is a course and distance winner who can go well from a fair draw, but a safer bet looks to be Anthill who gets our pick.
