Verdict
Ballad Maker makes plenty of appeal in this maiden and he gets our vote over Alexander Guru and Quaglino Way. The selection looks to be going the right way on the evidence of his two runs so far. He made a pleasing debut but then stepped-up on that last time at Kempton when third behind Sister Act. If he can progress again then he should be hard to beat. Alexander Guru would have claims on his debut effort at Kempton but he has since disappointed and he blatantly did not see out the trip last time. He could be worth another chance now that he is dropped in distance. Quaglino Way was not beaten all that far last time and he had been well backed previously on his handicap debut. He clearly has ability and he can go well. Raihanah is the only newcomer in the field so is worth a look in the market. But our vote goes to Ballad Maker who can continue on an upward curve and lose his maiden tag.
