        Verdict

        This race has produced quite a competitive line-up, with Mambazo is selected ahead of Lady Bahia and Bond Playboy. Some thumbnail sketches. Lady Bahia is capable of running well from today's mark; Bond Playboy comes here running well but has a wide draw to contend with; Nusoor seemed to be coming back to form last time but might just need an extra furlong to be seen to best effect; Mambazo is close to a winning mark but that came over six furlongs here, although he has won over course and distance; Desert Opal's good run means that he now need a career-best effort if he is to feature; Monashee Brave looked promising in a light Flat campaign in 2006 but disappointed on his all-weather debut, although that did come at Southwell; Figaro Flyer is pretty consistent but most of his winning has come at six furlongs; and Financial Times has been second on each of his last four starts, the latest from today's mark so maybe improvement is required. Once again, then, the selection from the given analysis is Mambazo.
