In depth

Verdict

Dawson Creek, Fantastic Delight and Fun In The Sun are three for the short list here and Dawson Creek gets the vote. Jamie Spencer has been booked for the mount on the three-year-old, who was resolute when holding on to win over 10f at Lingfield last time. That was a welcome return to form for the gelding after a break, and with confidence now high he looks capable of running another big race. Fanstastic Delight is the mount of the other title-chaser, Seb Sanders and both title rivals have ridden this filly on her two most recent starts, when she finished in the frame both here and at Lingfield. This trip suits and she is at least consistent, so a win would be no shock. Fun In The Sun might just struggle getting home here but if he can see it out then some of his form would give him a decent chance, and he comes from a yard going quite well. Ceris Star steps up from 7f to this trip and despite winning last time the pedigree suggests it is not certain to suit, so we will stick with Dawson Creek.
