        Verdict

        Tender The Great is preferred to Snowy Day and Supreme Charter. Tender The Great has been finishing agonisingly close in recent weeks and while her backers have had to have deep pockets, she is at least holding her form and Chris Catlin replaces apprentice handling. Snowy Day was easy to back ahead of a victory at Southwell and will need to improve given that the handicapper has had a say about the merits of the performance. Supreme Charter is out of form although the handicapper delivers some much needed respite. Blinkers are tried for the first time. Tous Les Deux can be expected to be flying at the finish and backers support him in the knowledge that he might not get a run until it is too late. Chia probably ran into a well-handicapped horse over course-and-distance last time out and can be expected to run a decent race here. Tender The Great is given one more chance to end her frustrating barren spell.
