A poor start to the card where ACE CLUB is a very tentative pick to get the better of plenty of out of form rivals, while Honest Value is one to note in the market. Ace Club has at least got course and distance winning form, so although he does look to prefer Southwell, he can act well here. Trainer Garry Moss has his runners going well enough at the moment and at the weights the selection has as good a chance as most if he is anywhere near his best. Honest Value was runner-up over course and distance in a handicap last year from a 7lbs higher mark. His recent form has been poor, but a first-time visor might bring about a more positive performance. Lady Hopeful has three course and distance successes to her name, but they were some time ago. However a recent pipe opener will have put her straight after a break and she can go close. Firewalker likes it here and looks capable of getting involved in such lowly fayre, while the return to 5f for the first time since his debut for Nordic Light is not certain to suit. Ace Club gets the vote.
