In depth
Verdict
Inver Gold has been a good money spinner for the yard, winning six races, but he has yet to prove he is an ideal mount for an Amateur, while Just Wiz is another who has proved a real star for one of his ability, but like Inver Gold, he appears to go better for professional assistance. Dual course winner Spitfire Bob, is clearly better on sand than he is on turf and will appreciate a return to this surface having failed at Newcastle last week. He looks sure to give a good account, as does the old man of the party Sky Dome, providing he acts on this slower surface. A winner at Southwell last year on his Fibresand debut, it is somewhat surprising that he wasn't given another outing on this surface. However, the vote goes to Lazzaz, who won over course and distance back in February for todays rider Marie King. The five-year-old is only 4lbs higher for that success and looks to have every chance of gaining a third course win.
