Verdict
A dire affair in which GOLDEN BROWN looks the one to side with though Ardent Prince and Mr Chocolate Drop are the most dangerous opposition. Golden Brown is not well drawn tonight but this race is so intrinsically poor that this hold up performer won't be too badly inconvenienced. Fergus Sweeney will be keen though not to let him get too far behind. Ardent Prince was second in a handicap over course-and-distance. He should have won a maiden before today. Mr Chocolate Drop is always on the speed and is likely to be similarly poised today. Hypnotic is tried in cheekpieces rather than visor. Muncaster Castle has raced over this trip plenty of times in the past so a drop in trip is no worry. Blockley has proved expensive to follow and has been absent from the racetrack since June. Goose Green won off a mark of 60 though has regressed at a rate of knots. Golden Brown makes most appeal in a race lacking as a betting opportunity. (Ian Brindle)
