Verdict

Different Class can prove to be just that ahead of Au Courant, with Busy Henry and Larry The Tiger worth noting for future reference. Although Jonjo O'Neill has yet to hit top gear, his runners in this sphere always command respect, and Different Class is taken to improve on his sole start to date. That was at Uttoxeter last December when he stayed on well in heavy ground to finish third behind Back Among Friends. He is related to jumpers Southolt and The Proms, and no doubt his future lies over fences as well, but with ground conditions in his favour today, the gelding can open his account. Au Courant has been bought by Michael Buckley and comes from a line of Irish point-to pointers. Housed with a powerful yard, he is sure to be placed to good effect this winter. Busy Henry lines up with a fitness edge, but his debut at Worcester was on fast ground and it remains to be seen whether he can handle the cut here, while Larry the Tiger hails from a yard that will pay to follow again this term, but he is an unknown quantity. All in all, Different Class looks the one to beat in the finale.
