Verdict
Compton Chick can repay losses at the expense of topweight Jalons Star, and improving Combined Venture. Compton Chick scored on her chase debut at Ludlow in May, but was put back over hurdles at Newton Abbot last time after an early blunder the time before, also at the West Country track. She still has plenty of scope at the age of five, and this former Gerard Butler inmate can gain a confidence boosting victory before going on to better things. Jalons Star, another five-year-old, has to do it the hard way off topweight, but has shaped quite well this term, while Combined Venture has got closer on both his outings here. Karo de Vindecey is worth a cautionary look in the market, but Compton Chick gets the vote.
