In depth

Verdict

This looks a bit more competitive than the first division. Solstice Star has slipped to a fair mark but remains out of sorts and Santon is proving hard to place. MR CLARKSON was successful on his only previous visit here and is a pound lower in the weights, despite a return to form at Newton Abbot. David Pipe’s stayer gets the nod though The Tin Miner ran well in a light campaign last season and Young Offender was hampered in the closing stages when second at Uttoxeter, though is 4lb higher now. Butler's Brief has gone up 5lb for last month’s course and distance victory but should again beat fourth Presentedwithwings.
