      Verdict

A maiden brings an end to proceedings here at Worcester and HOPE ROAD tops the shortlist of possible winners ahead of Aboukir Bay and Arniecoco. The selection represents the top yard of Tom Dascombe and comes under the ride of champion jockey Tony McCoy which is a noteworthy booking. He¿s finished third at the last four attempts but this should be one of his easier tests to date and under the ride of an experienced winner anything other than victory looks unlikely. Aboukir Bay ran his best race over hurdles just two starts ago, he followed up with a disappointing run at Market Rasen last time but in such lowly company the David Pipe trained gelding should make the frame. Arniecoco showed his inexperience when last seen but ran with promise in a reasonable novice hurdle at Exeter a fortnight ago. He is progressing and the four-year-old will win races with more experience. A market check is advised for clues to the rest that take to the turf for this finale but we will side with Hope Road.
