Verdict
Monster Mick is going the right way and might prove the answer in this open event in which Gold For Me, Peddars Way and Jordans Lad also have claims of sorts. Brendan Powell has been enjoying a profitable campaign and so has Joe Tizzard, so the combination may pay to follow here as they team up with Monster Mick who has only had three career outings to date. He is still far from the finished article, but this step up in trip may bring about more improvement from this Flat-bred sort who would not have to be anything out of the ordinary to surprise these mainly exposed sorts. Gold For Me has not set the world alight so far but is trained by Martin Pipe, while Peddars Way's stable have been in form. He has a couple of placed efforts to his name and will be there or thereabouts no doubt. Jordans Lad has also been on the premises lately, including when second over fences at Haydock. This will be his first run over hurdles since coming over from Ireland though, and he is best watched. There are plenty in with a shout but we shall stick with Monster Mick who can make the frame at decent odds.
