In depth

Verdict

Waltzing Tornado was only beaten a length over course and distance on his penultimate start but was a shade disappointing when only third at Uttoxeter subsequently. Glen Countess has more to do than when successful at Cartmel but Rossbrin suggested he could be on the verge of capitalising on a lenient mark when third at Towcester and Basil Fawlty probably has more to offer over fences. MY MATE VINNIE has started favourite in both starts over the larger obstacles and was a smooth winner at Towcester last month following a break. The should be plenty more to come and he can overcome a 9lb rise in the weights.
