In depth

Verdict

Considering the type and race and time of year, this looks quite competitive. Lady Robyn made a fair start under Rules at Newton Abbot while Betterlatethanneva stepped up on a modest debut when second at Uttoxeter in June. Poisoned Berry was second at Wetherby and Newbury earlier in the year so goes on the short-list and Another Sunshine will no doubt improve on December's first run at Ludlow. BLACK SAM hasn't raced since March of last year but has plenty of untapped potential and fitness is unlikely to be an issue. She gets the nod though a market move for either Sauvignon, a daughter of champion stayer Yeats, or Phantomine, who is related to a host of winners on the Flat and over hurdles, would be significant.
