In depth
Verdict
A dire event in which Original Thought and Corrib Eclipse are the only two to make serious appeal and our nomination is for the latter. Corrib Eclipse won the Queen Alexandra Stakes at Royal Ascot in 2004 and while he is not a prolific winner under either code - it is doubtful that connections could have found him an easier opportunity. Original Thought is another to have had plenty of chances. He produced a fair effort on his most recent outing and while consistency is his strong suit, winning is not. Baycliffe Rose should stay this far on breeding and is of interest if there is support in the ring. Declans Choice was exposed in Ireland and has it to do on official figures. The remainder look hard to fancy. Corrib Eclipse has plenty to like about him from a formbook perspective and he secures our vote.
