In depth

Verdict

Quite a few make their debuts in the first division of the bumper, but the experience of Alpine Fox, from the in-form stable of Tom George, is the one to beat, with Millers getting a good mention in dispatches. Alpine Fox made a very encouraging debut over the course and distance when second to Tinoveritas who was favourite on the strength of some useful efforts himself. Millers Mead is rated in similar fashion by Paul Nicholls and has been working well at Ditcheat, but the boot is on the other foot this time and he will do well to overcome his rival, especially with Tony McCoy doing the steering. Alan King generally has some nice sorts in this sphere so a watching brief should be run over Doce Vida, the mount of Richard Johnson.
