Verdict
Marky Bob picks up a 7lb penalty for winning a very modest Newton Abbot contest over the weekend but does go well on the ground which is crucial at this time of year. However, GORTEENWOOD appeals as a likelier option at the weights. Not seen under Rules since the autumn of 2010, he's been coaxed nicely back into from by Mark Gillard with a couple of solid runner-up efforts over course and distance in the past month and looks well treated off a mark of 84. He actually finished behind Captain Knock on the first of those two runs but the latter has since been tailed off on his follow-up attempt and the selection appeals as the safer option. Rebel High usually runs his race but a career record of 0-24 under Rules tell it's own story.
