    Verdict

Despite a large field there should not be too many involved here and we will side with Gone¿n¿Dunnett to chalk up a fourth course win, with Taboor, Matsunosuke and Henry Hall others to consider. The selection would admittedly prefer a little more juice in the ground, though the races on Wednesday¿s card indicated that the ground is not really any quicker than good. Christine Dunnett¿s charge has twice won over 6f here and once over the minimum, but had the speed to win over 5f at Southwell earlier in the year, likes the track and is back on a winning mark, so could go in at a decent price. Taboor will be all the rage after a neck defeat of Geojimali at Hamilton over this trip last time. However, a 5lb rise means this will be much tougher and he is just opposed. Matsunosuke won a fast ground Thirsk handicap on his penultimate start, but was all at sea from a decent draw having been raised in the handicap at Beverley last time and has to prove it all again here. Of the others, Henry Hall is a grand old timer who showed some form at Ripon last time. He has not won for almost three years and it¿s hard to see him ending that losing run here, so we take Gone¿n¿dunnett to score.
